Tudor Caravan Park is one of the best located caravan & campsites in Gloucestershire. A quiet country caravan site right alongside the Gloucester-Sharpness canal, an easy 5 minute walk from the world famous Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre at Slimbridge.
Tudor Caravan Park is a quiet country site, and a Visit England 4 Star and AA 4 Pennant Graded Park. We accept caravans, tents, motorhomes, campervans and RVs all year round.
Set in a picturesque location - a short walk away from the world famous Slimbridge Wetlands Centre, right alongside the Gloucester-Sharpness ship canal with the views of the Cotswold Hills in the background.
Right next door is the award-winning Tudor Arms pub & restaurant, opposite is Slimbridge Boat Station & Cafe where there is a small shop and boats & bicycles can be hired.
Good fishing and easy cycling along the canal towpath.
Walkers can enjoy not only the canal but also the Severn Way which runs alongside the park or Cotswold Way 5 miles away.
Also ideally placed to watch the famous Severn Bore with many viewing spots close to the park.
We have gained the David Bellamy Conservation Award - Gold in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. Plus the special David Bellamy 10 Year Commitment to Conservation Award - only awarded to 37 parks in the UK in 2004.
We have also won 'Cotswolds Caravan or Camping Site of the Year 2012 - Silver'.
We are open all year round. Families, children, and well-behaved dogs are welcome at any time. We have many all-weather gravel pitches and heated shower blocks.
The adjacent Tudor Arms pub & restaurant is also open all year as is the WWT's Slimbridge Wetlands Centre at the bottom of the road. Road access is usually fine also as the road is gritted down to Slimbridge Wetlands Centre.
The Meadow has electric hook-ups on both hardstandings and grass pitches and is open all year round. Suitable for all types of tourers and camping in tents. We keep a large open area in the centre of the meadow so it feels spacious and there is plenty of room for children to play games.
The site has hedging around most of the perimeter with the Gloucester-Sharpness canal running along one side where you may be lucky enough to see a paddle-steamer or the occasional tall ship passing. This meadow backs onto the canal and has lovely views over the fields towards the Cotswold Hills. Our new toilet & shower block is centrally located here for easy access.
The Old Orchard area is an Adults Only area all year round. This is all hardstandings with electric hook-ups suitable for caravans, motorhomes, camper-vans, and RVs.
This area is quieter and more secluded as well as being close to the amenities.
It is shielded by hedges and has a selection of both old and new apple and plum trees - many of which are local heritage varieties.
Despite our name, Tudor Caravan Park is ideal for camping in tents. The site is level and has lots of open space on well kept grass. We take great care of our lawns and pick up all grass-clippings to minimise transfer into your tent.
The site is well-equipped for camping with two shower & toilet blocks including our brand new 4-star facility which includes a laundry and baby-changing. Electric hook-ups (16 amp) are also available for tents if required. There are two washing-up areas and free use of the site freezer.
Tudor Caravan Park is located right behind the Tudor Arms public house screened by hedges and trees - it's a quiet country pub and restaurant well-known for it's excellent freshly cooked food and wide selection of local real ales.
The Tudor Arms has been awarded 'Gloucester's Country Pub of the Year' by CAMRA for the last 5 years, and improved even more last year to become the sole 'Gloucestershire Pub of the Year 2012'.
